These shoes are perfect for the casual runner, that is, one who averages 3 or so miles at a nice jog and isnt overly concerned with pacing and distance. The gym is a good place, as is cross fit. After my brief love affair with the original Free Flyknit in Rainbow Vomit color scheme, I decided to give the newer, lighter iteration a go. I used the Free Flyknit 5.0 for a good 6 months, averaging about 4 miles with maximums of 6, at a good pace too (~ 6:45/mile); then I realized that anything further and the shoes began to hold me back, like I was running through mud.I gave these a shot, though, as I wanted a new distance shoe and figured maybe it was just the weirdness of the inaugural shoe. They combine the flyknit tech from the Flyknit Lunar 1 (or the slightly newer Flyknit 5.0s) into the 4.0 sole with the new hex pod outsole. The whole thing fits well like a sock - kind of. Basically the flyknit is woven really quite tight around the heel to lock it in, but the weave pattern loosens up towards the toe box. Like the other free uppers, it has a wide toe box which is wonderful, but it also grips your heel without all the internal padding. Its incredibly breathable. Another one of my favorite things is the flywire in the midsole. You can pull the laces as tight as you want for great midsole compression and

I own these and I love them so I purchased a pair for my mother in law. Super comfy, no blisters, great support and BREATHES which is super important since we live in Florida and its so muggy and sticky outside lol.
