The ONLY reason for not giving five stars is the choice of colors. The shoe is awesome! Ive worn only Asics for years. In my opinion, the 15 was great, but I had two stiff, clunky 16s that I didnt love. The 17s are so cushy, like bouncing on a cloud. You feel it the second you put them on. I hate buying them at full price, like to stock up when the new model comes out and the current pair is $30 off. But I was training for a half marathon, and my knees (and toenails!)were hurting so I had to bite the bullet. I havent had to tape my knees once since getting the 17s!! Im going to surprise my husband with a new pair of 17s for Fathers Day, even if they are still full price--- thats how much I love them. ----oh, I used to wear size 7.5, sized up to an 8 about a year ago, then I had the painful bruised toenails during training, so I sized up again to an 8.5...thats the only reason I said they ran slightly small. Maybe its just me.

I suffer from very high arches, plantar fasciitis, and heels spurs. These shoes are perfect for all of my issues (and the associated orthotics). The 17s are directly comparable to the 15s (the 16s lacked sufficient heel cushioning and gave me backaches and heel pain).I love these shoes and am stocking up!

The gel-nimbus 17, like its predecessors, runs very small. I wear a 6 or 6.5 street shoe, a 7 in most running shoes, and a 7.5 in this shoe. I bought the 17 after falling in love with the 15. After they wore out, I tried on the 16s and found that the cushioning had nearly disappeared. With the 17, the cushioning has improved, but still not as good as ye olden days. The uppers on these seem much stiffer, and theres a seam where the tongue attaches that I find more bothersome. Im a little disappointed after thinking the 15 was the Holy Grail of running shoes since I have extremely high arches and underpronate. Still, Im going to keep them as see if I can make them work. Why do they have to tinker with success? Bring back the 15s! They were so perfect!
