I know reviews are mixed, but I love the shoe. Fits perfectly. Feels cushiony. Light enough. Provides plenty of stability and minimizes roll.I am a 200 pound male runner that suffers from Sinus Tarsi syndrome due to my feet rolling, but I was able to go right out in this shoe WITHOUT my orthotics and have had ZERO issues after racking up some serious mileage. Also not a hint of return of previous plantar fasciitis issues. Comfort and injury free ... cant beat it, well worth paying a few extra bucks for.I did order the wider size, and am very glad I did; it does feel like it might be ever-so-slightly slimmer than other shoes I have had.By the way, I have not been truly thrilled with any shoe since the old 2170 from a few years back, but in my mind this shoe is every bit as good.UPDATE 8/2/15:As of 8/2/15 - just ordered my THIRD pair so I can swap out during the week, plus my original ones are starting to get some wear (for good reason). I have put down anywhere from 50 to 70 miles per w

If you have been wearing this series of shoes through every generation as I have, you know Asics messed up the line in a huge way when the 21xx series was replaced with the GT2000 series. Too firm. Many runners reported injuries. Why change what was probably the bestselling running shoe in the industry (a competitors product manager revealed that to me years ago). Based on a few encouraging reviews I bought the 3rd generation of this GT2000 shoe and Im pleased to share- the cushioning is at least as good as and maybe better than the 2170s. THEYRE BACK! Many order 1/2 size larger and I prefer the 2E width, but sizing hasnt changed from past models. If you gave up on this line of shoes, come back. Youll be glad you did.

You cant go wrong with the Brooks Ghost. This is my third pair, and they just seem to jet better each time. Being ultra-critical, I will say that the arch support could be a little bit better. However, for a heel-stomper like me, I dont think I can find a better shoe.

Shoes are all specific to everyones individual feet, but the Ghost 7 and 8 work for my feet. These are some of the only shoes Ive tried recently that are firm enough in the area between the toes and the arch. Some shoes are too soft for me in that area and it makes me feel like my toes are bending back too far when I walk.I like these shoes because they keep that part of my foot from sinking too far.Previously I had Ghost 7 (I really liked the blue/yellow ones, but they are hard to find now), and these seem like a close enough replacement for me.On the Ghost 7, the part of the mesh right above my big toe started wearing through (where the big toenail is),but these (Ghost 8) seem to have an extra rubberized strip exactly across that spot, so perhaps they will last longer. My 7s lasted about 9 months for me, Im not a runner but I wear them everywhere including the gym on elliptical and lots of walking.Ill probably stick with this series of shoe next time around if they dont change much in
